  • SUNY COETAIL (Certificate of educational technologies and information literacies) Course two has started
    21st Century Literacy Ideas, Questions, and Issues
    Follow the course at http://elearning.qataracademy.wikispaces.net/SUNY2. There is a twitter tag (qasuny), a Ning group, and lectures are posted as Voicethreads at the SUNY2 page

  • Some Current Curriculum Projects
    - Grade 8 Islamic Studies: blogging and eportfolio response to documentary
    - Grade 7 Islamic Studies wiki project dedicated to Arabic Culture (http://21stcarabicculture.qataracademy.wikispaces.net/)
    - Grade 7 Tech-IT: Collective Knowledge wiki on Global Issues here
    5 students presented at the Global Issues Network conference at American School of Doha on 13 March. It went over very well and the students are to be congratulated
    - Grade 6 English: Ingenuity projects using PowerPoint, Voicethread and Eportfolio wikis
    Project is finishing with all students publishing to their wiki eportfolios (which are now available). Students also demonstrated impressive acquisition, adaptability and problem-solving skills

What's New?

This section will announce significant developments of which you might not have been aware. At the moment the IT Department is working on
  • The 1:1 laptop roll-out: (See 1:1 laptop page for more) All Grade 7 and 8 students have their HP Table laptop
  • The Certificate of Educational Technologies program: Proceeding
  • Student eportfolios: ePortfolios have been set-up for Grades 7, 8 and 9 students for subject project work that incorporates student laptops and other digital technologies.
  • Student edtech support group: Has met and will be developed as a support for classroom use of ICTs
